Definition¶
The proportion of users acquired on an organization website in a given cohort period who return to the website in a subsequent period, as measured by Google Analytics 4 cohort reporting.
Description¶
Website retention rate is obtained through a GA4 cohort report request (cohortActiveUsers / cohortTotalUsers), a materially different API call shape from the standard reports used for the rest of this domain's metrics. It is distinct from sales.retention_rate, which measures retention of known CRM customers and partners rather than anonymous or pseudonymous website visitors.
